Use this Year 6 Area of a Triangle (Counting Squares) Varied Fluency resource to help your class become confident when working out the area of a triangle by counting squares on a grid.

Each of the three questions is printed on a grid and requires children to count squares to work out the area of a triangle. As part squares are also included in questions 2 and 3, children are encouraged to see their answers as estimates.

An answer sheet is provided for quick and easy marking for teachers and self marking for pupils.

A reasoning and problem solving resource is also included for this small step.
