Use this Year 6 Formal and Informal Vocabulary Application and Reasoning worksheet to challenge pupils' understanding of what the difference between formal and informal writing is, with specific focus on the vocabulary used in each style. With two application and one reasoning question, children are asked to identify which style of writing has been used and give examples of the vocabulary, to rewrite a sentence in a different style and compose a sentence in a particular style using a given word bank.

This differentiated resource provides you with a choice of three levels meaning that there is something for everyone to access. Each worksheet also comes with it's own answer guide to make marking quicker.
