This Key Stage 1 Rise and Read St David's Day resource includes four reading activities focused on St David's Day. It is suitable for use in Years 1 and 2 and could be displayed on the whiteboard as early morning work, used in reading, RE or PSHE lessons or even as a stimulus in assemblies. However you choose to use it, children will not only sharpen their reading skills but also learn more about this patron saints day.

The pack includes two information texts, an instructional text and an image. These lead to questions which focus on a variety of reading skills: vocabulary, prediction, effect, inference and retrieval. There is also an assessment style question with a focus on sequencing.
