Prepare children for ordering numbers to 100 with this Year 1 Ordering Numbers Prior Learning. This activity revisits the previously taught learning around ordering numbers to 50. It is a great way to check pupils are secure in their understanding before moving them on to more challenging numbers.

Children will sequence numbers into ascending and descending order. They will count pictorial representations and use the inequality symbols.

Curriculum Objectives

  • Count to and across 100, forwards and backwards, beginning with 0 or 1, or from any given number
  • Count, read and write numbers to 100 in numerals
  • Identify and represent numbers using objects and pictorial representations including the number line, and use the language of: equal to, more than, less than (fewer), most, least
