This Year 1 Place Value Mistake Investigators resource includes a range of carefully designed questions that encourage children to develop their reasoning and problem-solving skills by identifying and explaining mistakes.

For each objective, there are four questions with one correct answer and three incorrect answers. Children are challenged to spot the mistake, decide which answer is correct and explain their reasoning.

The questions are designed to be answered in groups to promote discussion. The questions cover a range of place value topics such as count, identify and represent numbers up to 100, counting in multiples of 2s, 5s and 10s and identify one more and one less. A range of representations such as number lines, number pieces and other models are used to support.

If you're looking for something that will help your children develop their skills and help them to more investigative learners, you're in the right place!
