Support understanding of how to solve an equation with two unknowns by using this resource.
This Year 6 Solving Equations with Two Unknowns Varied Fluency worksheet will help children understand how to calculate the value of an unknown (represented by a letter) that has been used two or more times in an equation. The first two questions use pictorial representations to support understanding of how to calculate the unknowns in an equation through part-whole models and bar models, before finishing with four calculations. All answers are given so that marking is as simple as possible!
Note: the 'a' column uses whole numbers and the 'b' column introduces decimals and fractions.
A reasoning and problem solving resource is also available for this small step.
