British Science Week

British Science Week takes place on the 6th – 15th March. The theme is ‘Curiosity: what’s your question?’  We’ve been preparing for Science Week by exploring some intriguing questions of our own. With the gloomy weather outside, our minds have already drifted to sunnier days and the idea of a seaside escape. That sparked a bigger curiosity for us: what’s really happening beneath the ocean’s surface? Who lives down there, and just how deep does it go?

To help you dive into this topic, we’ve put together a teaching PowerPoint all about the ocean, focusing on its different zones and the incredible ways animals adapt to their environments. Alongside it, our ocean‑themed concept cartoons are perfect for sparking discussion, challenging misconceptions, and checking understanding in a fun, informal way.

This celebration on 8th March provides an important opportunity for teachers and families to educate and inspire children about gender equality. We have pulled together Rise and Read packs to start the discussion about many inspiring women. Many are linked to the world of Science.
