Do you want six practical activities to help your Year 1 class compare different number statements? Well here you go, have them (as part of your subscription..). We've made these Year 1 Compare Statements activities just for you and your class to allow them to get hands-on, practical experience comparing number statements. They're a great addition to your provision area, and include activities such as a small world task and a tuff tray task. Instructions are also included to provide an easy set-up.


Curriculum Objectives

  • Read and write numbers from 1 to 20 in numerals and words
  • Identify and represent numbers using objects and pictorial representations including the number line, and use the language of: equal to, more than, less than (fewer), most, least
  • Read, write and interpret mathematical statements involving addition (+), subtraction (–) and equals (=) signs
  • Solve one-step problems involving multiplication and division, by calculating the answer using concrete objects, pictorial representations and arrays with the support of the teacher
