Ordering groups of objects in descending and ascending order is great fun, but sometimes you just want a few different ideas and prompts because as we all know, variety is the spice of life. So here are six different Year 1 Order Groups of Objects activities that you can use in your provision area or anywhere within class! With a malleable task, fine-motor task, outdoor task and more, your class have plenty to get to grips within when ordering groups of objects.


Curriculum Objectives

  • Count to and across 100, forwards and backwards, beginning with 0 or 1, or from any given number
  • Count, read and write numbers to 100 in numerals
  • Identify and represent numbers using objects and pictorial representations including the number line, and use the language of: equal to, more than, less than (fewer), most, least
