Are your class ready to tackle more challenging punctuation to mark boundaries within sentences? Use our Year 6 Punctuation 2 Unit Plan to offer you support in ordering a sequence of lessons and help you to deliver the individual lessons to a high quality.

This resource includes a timetable to suggest where in the year this unit of work could be taught. It then gives an overview of what objectives are covered in this guidance, followed by an individual page for each proposed lesson. The lessons include using semi-colons, colons and dashes to mark boundaries as well as identifying clauses within sentences.

Each small step or lesson guidance page includes a notes and guidance section that covers what children should be aware of before they begin the lesson and what the expected outcome should be of this lesson. There are a series of focussed questions that you could incorporate into your teaching too. This guidance works well with the corresponding resources for this lesson, and these include things like worksheets, teaching resources and much more!
