English Year 3/4: Draft and write by organizing paragraphs around a theme.

Differentiation:

Questions 1, 4 and 7 (Varied Fluency)
Developing Identify a fronted adverbial of time in paragraphs. Question uses a fiction text with mostly single clause sentence and some multi-clause sentences with coordinating conjunctions.
Expected Identify a fronted adverbial of manner in paragraphs. Question uses a fiction text with some multi-clause sentences including coordinating and subordinating conjunctions.
Greater Depth Identify a fronted adverbial of manner and frequency in one paragraph. Question uses a fiction text with multi-clause sentences and a range of conjunctions and sentence structures.

Questions 2, 5 and 8 (Varied Fluency)
Developing Select the correct sentence which links the two paragraphs together. Paragraphs include mostly single clause sentences with some multi-clause sentences.
Expected Select the correct sentence which links the two paragraphs together. Paragraphs include speech and some multi-clause sentences with coordinating and subordinating conjunctions.
Greater Depth Select the correct sentences which link the three paragraphs together then identify which sentences link which two paragraphs. Paragraphs include multi-clause sentences with a range of conjunctions and sentence structures.

Questions 3, 6 and 9 (Reasoning and Problem Solving)
Developing Select a fronted adverbial to replace the one identified in the text and give a reason for your choice. Select from only two fronted adverbials of time and place.
Expected Select a fronted adverbial to replace the one identified in the text and give a reason for your choice. Select from three fronted adverbials of manner.
Greater Depth Select two fronted adverbials to replace the two identified in the text and give a reason for each of your choices. Select from three different types of fronted adverbials.
