This Key Stage 1 Rise and Read Father’s Day resource contains four engaging reading activities, specially designed for Years 1 and 2. It can be used flexibly in the classroom - as early morning work on the whiteboard, during reading or PSHE lessons or even as a stimulus for assemblies.

The pack includes an information text, a short story, an image and a poem. Each is followed by a set of questions that develop key reading skills, including retrieval, vocabulary, effect, inference and prediction. An additional assessment-style question is also included, with a particular focus on vocabulary.
