This comprehensive Year 6 Recognising Formal and Informal Writing Teaching PPT follows a linear sequence to support you in teaching children how to recognise formal and informal writing. Beginning with a look at sources which use either formal or informal writing, the PowerPoint then moves on to focus on the differences between formal and informal and how a statement can be adapted to be written in either style.

An excellent whole class teaching resource with examples to show children how to recognise the difference between when to use formal and informal writing. This could be used as a recap in smaller groups.
