Support understanding of how to use a formula to calculate the area of a triangle by using this resource.
This Year 6 Area of a Triangle (Using Formula) Varied Fluency worksheet builds on the previous small step about finding a triangle's area by counting squares to show how to use a formula (base x height divided by 2) to calculate any triangle's area. Beginning with a question that shows the link between a rectangle's area and a triangle's area to consolidate learning, children will then use a formula to calculate area of triangles then apply that to find the area of shapes comprised of multiple triangles. All answers are also included so that marking is as easy as possible!
A reasoning and problem solving resource and fluency matrix are also available for this small step.
